Azerbaijanis Involved in Clashes with Armenians Released in Moscow
A group of Azerbaijanis arrested in Moscow following clashes with Armenians in July has been released. This was reported by EADaily, citing the Azerbaijani embassy in Russia.
The diplomatic representation stated that the Azerbaijani citizens who were detained in Moscow are under the embassy's attention. The investigation deadline has been extended until October 24, which led to a court petition on September 16 to extend the detention measures for those in custody, but the court rejected the petition. The defendants were released from the courtroom.
It is worth noting that more than 30 individuals were arrested in Moscow in July for their involvement in attacks and riots against Armenians. Several criminal cases were initiated, including charges of hooliganism, robbery, and assault with intent to kill. Those charged face up to five years in prison.
