Rosgosstrakh Demands $205 Million from Former Owner Daniel Khachatryan
Rosgosstrakh has filed a lawsuit against its former owner, Daniel Khachatryan, in the California Supreme Court this September. Khachatryan's attorney claims that the presented demands are baseless. According to the court filing, Rosgosstrakh suffered a loss of $205 million during reinsurance negotiations from 2012 to 2017. The company seeks to recover this amount from Khachatryan.
The plaintiff states that the funds, which were supposed to serve the organization, had been diverted to generate profit for Khachatryan and his associates through various shell companies. A representative from the organization confirmed that the lawsuit has been filed.
This is the first time the company has made such demands from Khachatryan, despite ongoing legal proceedings between the parties in the Russian judicial system.
