Urgent: Quarantine Imposed from Today at 17:00 Until January 11, 2021

Due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a quarantine has been established taking into account the declaration of a pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020 and the ongoing tense epidemiological situation worldwide. The disease has also spread widely in the Republic of Armenia, leading to an outbreak that necessitated a state of emergency.

Given the World Health Organization's warning about the risk of a second wave of the pandemic, and emphasizing the importance of implementing appropriate preventive and anti-epidemic measures to protect the health of the population and improve their health status, the government of the Republic of Armenia, based on the relevant proposal from the authorized body in the healthcare sector and guided by Article 20.2, Part 1 of the Law on Ensuring Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety of the Population of the Republic of Armenia, and Article 12, Points 'e' and 'j' of the Law on Protection of the Population in Emergency Situations, has decided:

1. To impose a quarantine throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia from September 11, 2020, at 17:00 until January 11, 2021, inclusive.
2. To establish the measures and restrictions applied during the quarantine period according to the attached document.
3. To stipulate that the measures and restrictions set forth in the second point of this decision will be applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Armenia on ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety and on the protection of the population in emergency situations by the authorities specified in those laws.
4. This decision enters into force immediately upon publication.
