Positive Economic News Amid Economic Challenges, Says Prime Minister
Continuing the theme of positive economic news against the backdrop of economic challenges, it is noteworthy that from January to July 2020, the export of live sheep and goats from Armenia increased by 256% compared to the same period last year. Approximately 41,000 heads of small ruminants were exported, totaling around 3.4 million dollars.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page, noting that this growth is a direct result of a series of steps taken by the government and that the export of small ruminants benefits numerous producers who have responded to my calls to "raise sheep."
"I continue to insist that this is one of the promising sectors of our agriculture, which can also become a very effective tool for overcoming poverty, if, of course, many farmers in our numerous villages show the will to unite their efforts, create agricultural cooperatives, and take advantage of the opportunities provided by the government. We will do everything to encourage this to actually happen," concluded the Prime Minister.
