Former Director of Hematology Center Charged with Embezzling 50% of Bonuses

As a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions carried out by the Investigative Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan, several circumstances related to alleged misappropriations at the RA Ministry of Health's "Professor R.O. Yolyan Hematology Center" LLC have been clarified.

According to the data obtained during the investigation, the former director of the "Professor R.O. Yolyan Hematology Center" LLC, who held the position from 2001 until May 2018, allegedly used his official position to misappropriate 50% of the bonuses and additional payments available to the center’s employees from 2010 to 2018. This was done with the assistance of the center's accountants, amounting to a particularly large sum of 26,514,391 Armenian drams.

With the accumulation of sufficient evidence, the former director has been charged in accordance with the first part of the third paragraph of Article 179 (embezzlement or misappropriation) of the RA Criminal Code. A measure has been chosen to prevent him from leaving, requiring a signature. The damage caused by him has been restored during the pre-trial investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
