Stabbing in Yerevan: Erebuni Hospital Doctors Save the Life of a 32-Year-Old Victim

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, materials are being prepared in the investigative department of the Erebuni police regarding a stabbing incident that took place in Yerevan on September 12. On that day, around 04:15, the Erebuni Medical Center alerted the Erebuni police that a citizen had been admitted with a diagnosis of a "stab wound to the left flank."

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the operational group of the Erebuni police arrived at the hospital, where they learned that the victim was 32-year-old Erik Vardanyan, a resident of Yerevan, who, according to medical documents, was unable to explain what had happened.

While doctors at Erebuni Hospital were fighting for his life—which they succeeded in doing—Erebuni police managed to identify that the injury was inflicted by another Yerevan resident, 32-year-old Rostom Melkonyan, who was located and taken to the Erebuni police station, where he provided an explanation of the incident and was subsequently released.

By the investigator's decision, a forensic examination has been appointed. The police have also determined the location where the altercation-stabbing occurred.
