Lori Regional Administration Addresses Cut Trees in Vanadzor

The Lori Regional Administration responded to a report today regarding tree cutting in Vanadzor. Officials from the agriculture and environmental protection department of the administration, alongside specialists from the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body's Lori territorial division, visited Banaki Street in Vanadzor. There, three trees of the "Gev Market" shop were mercilessly subjected to severe pruning.

Edward Baghramyan, a leading specialist representing the Vanadzor municipality's department of communal services, urban development, and environmental protection, was also invited to provide clarifications. He assured that the municipality was not informed and had not granted any permission for the pruning.

According to the Lori Regional Administration's specialists, it is clear that tree pruning shouldn’t occur in this weather. Regarding this specific case, they stated that it cannot even be referred to as severe pruning because it is visibly clear that the trees may not even sprout new growth. This will become evident only in May.

The inspection agency's specialists conducted measurements of the trees and relevant studies. They also noted that a report will be prepared, and subsequently, they will appeal to the municipality and law enforcement bodies to pursue the matter further.

Meanwhile, the Lori Regional Administration will remain vigilant to ensure that those responsible for such acts are held accountable, and that similar incidents do not recur in the region.
