Alen Simonyan Almost Rules Out Hrayr Tovmasyan's Election as Constitutional Court President
I practically rule out such a possibility. This was stated today, September 15, by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, during a conversation with journalists, in response to the question of whether it is possible for Hrayr Tovmasyan to be elected as the President of the Constitutional Court by the new composition of the Court.
It is noteworthy that today the National Assembly selected Constitutional Court judges Yervand Khundkaryan, Arthur Vagharyan, and Edgar Shatiryan.
“I do not consider this logical. I exclude it because the crisis was also created due to the fact that Hrayr Tovmasyan had found himself in the position of a Constitutional Court judge,” he said.
In any case, Simonyan insists that this issue has not been discussed with the newly elected judges.
