Will there be fines after the Yerevan Music Night event in Dilijan? Mane Gevorgyan clarifies

On Saturday, September 12, a gathering took place in Dilijan, and photos and videos circulating showed that it was crowded and lacked social distancing. The police also reported that the concert in Dilijan was a type of economic activity, meaning that restrictions do not apply to this case.

Auroranews contacted the spokesperson for the Prime Minister, Mane Gevorgyan, who stated in our conversation that there should be supervision. She has a video showing police distributing masks to event attendees and urging them to follow the rules, but the situation remains as it is. “We asked the police to be much more attentive in such cases and for strict supervision to be ongoing,” Mane Gevorgyan noted.

When asked if fines would be imposed, Mane Gevorgyan said she had requested information on this matter. It will be clear tomorrow. It should be noted that in this case, the controlling body is the Police of the Republic of Armenia, and the measures applied during the quarantine period do not necessarily serve the interests of the people.

We followed the entire course of the event: citizens were without masks, did not maintain social distance, and since the concert was broadcast live, we noted that there were no police officers present at the site. Auroranews attempted to direct these questions to Zarzand Gabrielian, the head of the public relations department of the Police of Armenia, who stated that he could not provide further comments.
