There is an Ideological Dispute. Nobody Will Benefit from Julfalakyan's Resignation, Says Mkhihtar Hayrapetyan

In a conversation with journalists, Mkhihtar Hayrapetyan, a member of the 'My Step' faction, discussed Arsen Julfalakyan's resignation from his mandate:

“I believe that there is nothing more to add than what Mr. Julfalakyan and faction leader Lilit Makunts have said,” he noted.

When asked about the numerous discussions regarding disagreements between the parliament members and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan, the deputy stated, “Yes, there are numerous discussions, many issues that we talk about with our partners in the executive, and our dispute is fundamentally ideological. In this sense, I believe that our compatriots' dreams that have been held for decades are being realized. There is healthy work and cooperation between the parliament and the government.”

“Mr. Julfalakyan has made a statement, and I do not take it upon myself to say more than Mr. Julfalakyan has stated. In any case, I personally hope that this decision will change. My colleague Arsen Julfalakyan's departure from the legislature harms both the sector and the committee. Arsen Julfalakyan has been and remains one of the best in the sector, an outstanding deputy who has proven himself in a year and a half. Nevertheless, no one will benefit if Mr. Julfalakyan submits his mandate. I hope that the issues will be resolved and he will change his decision. I have urged him to withdraw his application,” added Hayrapetyan.
