358 grams of methamphetamine discovered on Armenian citizen at Bagratashen checkpoint
The State Revenue Committee continues its rigorous fight against the illegal transportation of narcotics and psychoactive substances across the borders of the Republic of Armenia.
Recently, employees of the Anti-Smuggling Department’s Gugark Region Unit, in cooperation with the Internal Security Department and the RA Police Criminal Investigation Department, uncovered another instance of drug smuggling. Specifically, during customs control at the Bagratashen customs checkpoint, a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, K.G., arriving from Georgia, was subjected to a personal customs inspection.
During the inspection, K.G. removed from his clothing pockets and presented six polyethylene packages containing crystal-like substances of methamphetamine, weighing a total of 358 grams.
In connection with the incident, materials were created by the Anti-Smuggling Department on the basis of Article 267.1 of the Criminal Code, which have been submitted to the Investigative Committee. K.G. has been arrested within the framework of the initiated criminal case.
