Major Fire in Krasnodar: About 60 Houses Burned, 300 People Evacuated

A major fire broke out in a multi-story building in Krasnodar last night. The fire started at 2:15 AM on Rossiyskaya Street, completely engulfing the upper floors of the high-rise building.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was likely a short circuit in the electrical wiring or fireworks from a wedding that had taken place in the area. TASS reports that the mayor of Krasnodar pointed to the former as a probable cause during an emergency committee meeting.

The fire devastated an eight-story building, with the upper floors fully charred, covering an area of 2,500 square meters. Houses numbered 54 to 58 were completely destroyed, and over 300 residents of the apartment building were evacuated, though there were no reported injuries.
