Deputy Colonel Assaulted is Home and in Coma: New Details
“My son has been home for a few days, but there has been no change in his health condition. He is still in a coma, under the supervision of doctors. He will have to remain at home,” said Samvel Mkhitaryan, the father of Deputy Colonel Ara Mkhitaryan, who has been in a coma for nearly a year due to severe beating, in an interview with Lurer.com.
He noted that the court hearing scheduled for yesterday has been postponed, and the next session will take place on October 12. Samvel Mkhitaryan has asked people to come and stand by them during those days.
It should be recalled that on March 6, the accused in the case, Zaven Grigoryan, was released on a bail of 1.5 million drams. Charges have also been filed against Harutyun Grigoryan, the former assistant to the governor of Vayots Dzor, while his brother Zaven Grigoryan holds the status of an accused in the case. A week after the incident, Tigran Sargsyan resigned from his position as the governor of Vayots Dzor, who, according to circulating information and some testimonies, was also present at the scene of the incident.
