‘Zhoghovurd’. The Faction Fails to Reach Agreement Again: Following the Discussion of the ‘Challenging’ Bills
The discussion of the draft laws on amendments to the RA law on the legal regime of emergency declared by the government on July 9 and considered urgent, as well as the draft law on amendments to the RA Code of Administrative Offenses, has been postponed again. According to our information, the reason is that the ‘My Step’ faction in the National Assembly is unable to form a unified stance and express support for the project.
It should be noted that the draft proposes to establish that during a state of emergency, the powers of managing medical institutions will transfer to the Ministry of Health, and failure to comply with orders or directives will result in fines ranging from 300,000 to 500,000 AMD for doctors.
In July, the ‘My Step’ faction held a session and vigorously discussed the draft, ultimately deciding not to consider the bill at this stage, leaving it for discussion in the upcoming session in September. However, the bill will not be discussed in September either, as the faction has again failed to reach an agreement, and the project has been rejected once more,” writes the newspaper.
