‘Putin Poisoned Navalny’ Says Navalny’s Spokesperson
Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny's spokesperson, Kira Yarmysh, has stated that she is confident the opposition leader was poisoned on August 20 at the behest of Vladimir Putin.
She noted that according to German government conclusions, Navalny was poisoned with a substance known as ‘Novichok’.
“I am convinced that the Russian authorities are involved in this. I am sure that nobody below Putin’s level could have given such an order, especially since it is now known that the poison used against Alexey was identified as ‘Novichok.’ Obviously, this poison is only at the disposal of the Russian security services. Therefore, I am, of course, convinced that the decision to poison Alexey was made precisely by Putin and the Kremlin,” Yarmysh stated. “The Russian authorities do not initiate any investigation. It is clear that this is their main strategy. As Lavrov recently said, ‘Before starting an investigation, it is necessary to clarify what happened.’”
