Military Training Exercises for Reservists Announced in Armenia
The Armenian Republic has announced military training exercises for reservists registered in the first category of the first group from September 15 to December 15, 2020. These exercises will involve personnel from the ranks of private, non-commissioned officers, and commissioned officers, with each session lasting 10 days. According to reports from Armenpress, this decision was made during the government session on September 3.
The initiative was among those not requiring a report. The exercises aim to improve the military capabilities of citizens registered in the reserves: 1) enhancing military skills, 2) professional retraining, 3) professional preparation, and 4) training reserve officers with higher education from the non-commissioned officer ranks.
A total of 786 citizens will be involved in the training exercises, including 524 from the ranks of privates, 82 from the non-commissioned officers ranks, and 180 from the commissioned officers ranks.
The proposed schedule specifies the involvement of reservists in various specialties as follows:
- Motorized infantry specialties: 36 reservists from September 15 – 24, 2020; 18 reservists from October 1 – 10; 18 reservists from October 6 – 15; 18 reservists from October 20 – 29; 21 reservists from November 16 – 25.
- Missile-artillery specialties: 31 reservists from October 19 – 28, 2020; 132 reservists from November 3 – 12; 145 reservists from November 9 – 18.
- Air defense specialties: 5 reservists from October 12 – 21; 8 reservists from November 23 – 29.
- Communication specialties: 71 reservists from November 20 – 29.
- Reconnaissance specialties: 6 reservists from September 15 – 24; 14 reservists from September 25 – October 4; 57 reservists from October 20 – 29; 72 reservists from November 17 – 26.
- Radio-electronic warfare specialties: 14 reservists from September 23 – 29.
- Engineering specialties: 24 reservists from October 26 – November 1.
- Technical specialties: 27 reservists from September 22 – 28; 40 reservists from September 29 – October 5.
- Rear support specialties: 22 reservists from October 5 – 11.
- Mapping specialties: 7 reservists from September 28 – October 7.
This decision will enter into force on the tenth day following its official publication.
