Our Enemies Are Those Who Announce the Closure of HPPs in Artsakh: President of Artsakh

Yes, our plan has been to make Artsakh energy independent and it has already been achieved. This was stated today, September 2, during a meeting with journalists by the President of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan.

“When the first hydroelectric power stations (HPPs) were built, everyone welcomed them. Then they realized that these HPPs increase political opportunities and began to criticize. We will continue the construction of HPPs. By the way, part of this century's project has started in the Sarsank-Mataghis section, with investments ranging from 70 to 80 million dollars. People discuss without knowing how HPPs operate. All rivers in Artsakh are fast-flowing, yet unstable rivers. During times of high flow, this becomes electricity. I declare that our enemies are those who announce the closure of HPPs. Thousands of jobs have been created. This is our wealth; Azerbaijan's is oil, ours is forest and water. We will continue the construction of HPPs wherever possible. If there are shortcomings, we have no issues with accountability,” he stated.
