Yerevan State University Compiling List of 'Dissenters'; Measures to Be Taken Against Them
The newspaper "Pasts" reports on one of the most discussed issues concerning the educational standards presented by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, which have faced substantial criticism from professional circles and certain segments of the public. Notably, esteemed lecturers from various faculties of Yerevan State University (YSU) have been prominent in voicing their opposition to these standards.
According to sources from the university, this situation has severely "irritated" the authorities, and preparations for certain actions are currently underway. Our university sources indicate that the authorities have tasked the YSU administration to investigate and determine why these particular lecturers have become active regarding this issue, to understand where the "wind is blowing from," and, most importantly, to ascertain whether there are political components involved.
Furthermore, we have been informed that it has also been instructed to compile separate lists of the "dissenters" in order to implement specific mechanisms and actions against them in the near future. More specifically, according to our sources, a political decision has already been made to find ways to ensure that many of these lecturers cease their teaching activities.
