Some Fish Farms in Ararat Plain Will No Longer Operate
WRed
The newspaper 'Zhamanak' reports that the Ministry of Environment has established a new working group to thoroughly examine the legality of permits for the self-bleeding wells operating in the Ararat Plain and the actual water extraction from those wells.
It is no secret that for years, fish farming enterprises have conducted illegal drilling and ruthlessly exploited the resources of the underground water basin, leading to the enrichment of a group of individuals while plunging Armenia into an ecological disaster.
As a result of the inspections, it is possible that some fish farms, including those belonging to former and current oligarchs, will cease their operations.
