One of the 11 Death Cases Disputed: Cause of Death Different, Health Ministry Spokesperson
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Alina Nikoghossyan, wrote on her Facebook page: "Those affected by alcohol poisoning incidents registered in the Armavir region and Yerevan are receiving treatment in various medical organizations across the republic.
Two are in Armenia Medical Center, and one is in Erebuni Medical Center. Doctors assess the health condition of all patients as extremely critical, with two of them connected to artificial respiration devices.
A patient receiving treatment at Heratsi Clinical Hospital No. 1 due to suspected poisoning sought medical assistance on August 30. It is currently being investigated whether this patient’s poisoning is linked to the recent incidents.
The preliminary epidemiological investigation revealed that one of the previously reported 11 deaths has been disputed, as this individual died from an unrelated cause.
It should be noted that all affected individuals consumed non-industrial vodka, which may be a potential source of poisoning. Currently, efforts are underway to identify the circle of alcohol consumers and to implement preventive measures.
Two samples of alcoholic beverages have been taken for laboratory analysis to clarify their composition."
