Mysterious Incident in Armavir: Citizens Die from Acute Exogenous Poisoning Overnight
On August 31, a mysterious incident occurred in the Armavir region. Around 21:30, the Armavir Medical Center notified the Armavir police that several citizens had been admitted for medical treatment, diagnosed with "alcohol intoxication." This was reported by shamshyan.com.
Police have established that those hospitalized include residents of Armavir, bank employees: 54-year-old Aleksan Asatryan, 53-year-old Gagik Sargsyan, 61-year-old Gagik Nikolyan, and 58-year-old Movses Harutyunyan. In the hospital, A. Asatryan and G. Sargsyan died, while G. Nikolyan and M. Harutyunyan are currently in the intensive care unit.
While police were investigating the incident, on September 1 at approximately 01:00, the Erebuni Medical Center contacted the Armavir police department reporting that a citizen had been admitted in an unconscious state, diagnosed with "acute exogenous poisoning and hypovolemic shock." The operational group of the Armavir police arrived at the Erebuni Medical Center, where it was discovered that the patient was 69-year-old Rubik Zakaryan, a resident of Armavir, who is in the intensive care unit.
At around 01:50, the Armavir Medical Center again notified the Armavir police department that two citizens had been admitted, diagnosed with "acute alcohol poisoning." Armavir police confirmed that the individuals transferred were 55-year-old Rafik Baghdasaryan and 47-year-old Hamlet Amirjanyan, both of whom are also in the intensive care unit.
At approximately 02:45, the Armenia Medical Center contacted the Armavir police department reporting that two more citizens and one deceased individual had been admitted, all diagnosed with "acute alcohol poisoning." The operational group of the Armavir police, responding to the Armenia Medical Center, confirmed that among the patients were Gagik Nikolyan, whose residence and date of birth are currently being clarified, and 61-year-old Matevos Sargsyan, while the deceased was Movses Harutyunyan, whose residence and address are also being ascertained.
At 05:20, the Armenia Medical Center informed the Armavir police department that H. Amirjanyan had died in the intensive care unit without regaining consciousness.
Investigations are underway in the Armavir police department regarding the case, and it is expected to be transferred to the Armavir Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. According to sources, there are suspicions that the deceased and those currently hospitalized may have been poisoned by alcoholic beverages.
