Hakobyan Had No Involvement in the Mentioned Process, According to Aghajanyan's Response to Media Reports
The head of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Eduard Aghajanyan, responded on his Facebook page to several reports published in the media.
“STAP! KORUPCION SKANDAL!!! We continue to address the absurd materials published by the yellow press without any regard for the order of their reproductions. Thus, let’s highlight two outright lies from those media outlets that tout themselves as ‘Factinfo’ and others.
Lie #1 - Millions of dollars have been spent on the renovation of the state’s number 1 residence. Although I am not authorized to specify the exact amount spent, I can say that the figure presented is inflated by TEN times.
Lie #2 - MP Hrachya Hakobyan from the ‘My Step’ faction has actively participated in the selection of the contractor company. This is also an outright lie, and Mr. Hakobyan had no involvement in this process at all.
Clarification: Regarding possible abuses during the renovation, I personally applied to the Commission on Corruption Prevention (CCP) for checks to begin within the State Non-Commercial Organization (SNCO). The results of the inspections have been sent to the relevant bodies, based on which an investigation is underway. The former director of the SNCO has been dismissed from his position.
Therefore, I must disappoint the media that placed my photo under the title ‘Corruption Scandal in the Office of the Head of the Administration.’ The CCP has commenced inquiries based on my application.”
