23 Cases of Alcohol Poisoning Registered in Armenia from August 31 to September 1

From August 31 to September 1, a total of 23 cases of alcohol poisoning were recorded in the Republic of Armenia, including 11 fatal cases. This was reported by Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Minister of Health of Armenia, in a Facebook post.

According to her data, out of the 23 cases, 17 were registered in the Armavir region (8 of which were fatal), all involving the consumption of non-factory-made vodka obtained from the same location. The remaining 6 cases were reported in Yerevan, with 4 resulting in death. All affected individuals had consumed medical alcohol.

The victims were transported to various medical facilities in the republic: 3 to the Armavir Medical Center (3 deceased), 17 to Armenia Medical Center (8 deceased), 2 to the University Hospital No. 1, and 1 to Erebuni Medical Center. Out of 12 patients, 3 are in extremely critical condition, including 2 connected to mechanical ventilation, 3 in serious condition, 2 in moderate condition, and 2 individuals showing no clinical signs yet. Another individual has refused treatment in writing and has been discharged from Armenia Medical Center.

Currently, efforts are being made to identify the circle of alcohol consumers and to implement preventive measures.
