The Court of Appeals Accepts the Lawmaker Mandate Appeal from the LHK Faction

The Court of Appeals of Armenia has accepted the appeal of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction concerning the acquisition of a parliamentary mandate.

This was reported by the leader of the LHK, Edmon Marukyan, on his Facebook page. He specifically noted:

“I would like to inform you that as the leader of the NA "Enlightened Armenia" faction, I applied to the Central Electoral Commission on June 22 on behalf of the faction, requesting that a parliamentary mandate be granted to the next candidate on the pre-election list of the 'Enlightened Armenia' party in accordance with the established procedure. This is necessary to restore the constitutional balance between the ruling and opposition factions in the parliament.

The commission rejected this request on July 8, stating in the conclusion that its decision could be appealed in the Administrative Court. After receiving this rejection, the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction promptly appealed to the Administrative Court in accordance with the established process and timeline.

On July 22, the Administrative Court rejected the acceptance of the claim, arguing that the NA faction could not be considered a subject appealing to the Administrative Court. This decision was appealed by us for revision on July 31.

The Court of Appeals of Armenia accepted our appeal on August 20, and we will inform about the further proceedings after receiving the relevant documents.”
