Ozbilis Refuses to Comment on Incident Involving Assault on Police Officers

The player of the Armenian national team and Yerevan's FC Pyunik, Aras Ozbilis, has declined to comment on reports stating that several players of the national team assaulted police officers in Cascade last night.

"I cannot say anything on that topic," Ozbilis told ArmSport.

As previously reported, a group of young individuals attacked officers of the Road Police in Cascade. According to Factor.am, the participants of the skirmish included national team footballers, some of whom were not included in the new team roster. It is reported that they were under the influence of alcohol and got into a dispute with the police officers, even tearing off the epaulettes of one of them.

According to our source, among those who assaulted the police officers were the Malakyan brothers, who were detained during the night. Also present were Serob Grigoryan, Aras Ozbilis, and other football players.

It is noted that the website requested a comment from the RA Police, which reported that a criminal case has been initiated concerning the incident of hooliganism, and a preliminary investigation is underway. No further details have been disclosed.
