Mercedes veers off road and collides with parked BMW; several injured

On August 30, a major accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At approximately 6:30 PM, 22-year-old Rafik Gevorgyan, a resident of the Kotayk region, lost control of his Mercedes vehicle while traveling on the Sevan-Shorja-Vardenis highway in the administrative area of the Shoghakat community. His car veered off the road and collided with a parked BMW owned by 32-year-old Petros Kirakosyan from Yerevan, which was located on the right side of the road.

According to shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, the Mercedes driver R. Gevorgyan and his passenger, 21-year-old A. M. from Gegharkunik, sustained bodily injuries and were transported to the Jambarak outpatient clinic.

Emergency services promptly arrived on the scene, with a firefighting and rescue team from the Gegharkunik regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations responding with one combat unit.

The report also mentions that the force of the collision caused the BMW to move forward, breaking through a metal fence and crashing into a power supply station.
