Armenian Mouflons Recorded in Zangezur Reserve

On August 29 and 30, during ongoing monitoring, Armenian mouflons (scientific name: Ovis orientalis gmelini) were recorded in the Zangezur Reserve, which is part of the state non-commercial organization "Zangezur" biodiversity complex. This was announced by the Ministry of Environment.
According to the statement, the status of the species is registered in the former USSR Red Book. The species is included in the IUCN Red List (version 3.1) with a "Vulnerable A2cde" status. Based on the criteria of the IUCN Red List, the subspecies is assessed as "Endangered," the statement added.
