What Issue Will the New Territorial Defense Force Address? Davit Tonoyan's Clarification

Armenia's Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan urged journalists in a briefing not to associate the concept of creating a territorial defense force with large-scale warfare. "This is about society's preparedness to respond to military-type challenges and threats," he stated.

When asked whether the army alone is insufficient to address this issue, Tonoyan replied, "Considering the threats and risks that are evolving around Armenia due to security concerns, I also ask you to pay attention to the new statements from our neighbors, the active military resources of the Armed Forces may not be sufficient alone."
