Turkey Denies Flight Permission for German Armed Forces Plane Heading to Yerevan
WRed
Turkey blocked the Bundeswehr mission at the end of July, denying the flight of a German Armed Forces aircraft through its airspace as it was en route to Yerevan. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the publication, Turkish aviation regulators refused to allow the aircraft to pass through Turkish airspace “without explanation.” As a result, an Airbus 310 that had departed from Cologne was forced to return to base.
Reportedly, the aircraft was heading to Yerevan to transport Armenian servicemen for training purposes in Germany. At that time, the plane was rerouted to fly through Russian airspace.
