Police Report Violations Identified: Ani Samsonyan
MP Ani Samsonyan from the "Enlightened Armenia" faction has posted on her Facebook page: "In connection with the recent events in Amulsar, I appealed to the Government of Armenia to reconsider the license of the 'Special Security Service' company, which is implementing security services for 'Lydian Armenia' in Amulsar, the authorized body regulating private security activities.
I presented several facts indicating that the law on 'Private Security Activity' of the Republic of Armenia had been apparently violated, which could lead to the suspension of the license.
The Police of Armenia have informed me in writing that the violations I reported have been recorded. Specifically, the employees of the 'Special Security Service' LLC were wearing special uniforms, which did not visibly display the required identification according to the law, including the guard's name, surname, the trademark of the security organization, and its business name.
Since July 28, 2020, an administrative process has been carried out by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Police regarding this fact. Furthermore, private security guards did not obey the legitimate orders and announcements from the Police aimed at maintaining public order and security, which resulted in the Police having to remove the guards from the area.
The licensing commission within the Police is currently discussing the issue of suspending the company’s license. We will await the final conclusions. For further details, please refer to the post.
