Oshakan's Gevork Arrested
The National Security Service of Armenia has initiated a criminal case in its investigative department, revealing sufficient evidence that an individual known as Gevork from Oshakan (G. M.) had engaged in illegal influence.
Beginning on May 17, 2020, G. M. contacted S. S., using threats related to his criminal authority and status, demanding a meeting to resolve a dispute involving A. P. regarding unpaid debts from previously pledged gold and funds derived from fish sales. G. M. threatened S. S. with violence unless he agreed to the demands of the creditor, A. P.
Following this, A. P., under the protection of G. M., demanded from S. S. a financial benefit of $4,800, 1,550,000 AMD, and the property certificate for land adjacent to fish ponds located in the Armavir region.
As a result of these actions, G. M. has been charged under Article 223.1 of the RA Criminal Code, and his detention has been chosen as a precautionary measure. In the same case, charges have also been filed against two other individuals for participating in or involving criminal subcultures. One has been ordered to sign a non-leaving notice, while the other awaits court permission for detention as a precautionary measure.
The investigation continues, with urgent investigative and other procedural actions being conducted to identify further criminal manifestations involving individuals with higher criminal authority and to establish the full scope of those involved in the criminal subculture.
Note: The suspect or accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a legally binding court decision in accordance with the procedures established in the RA Criminal Procedure Code.
