The First Doctor National Hero: Hakop (Hrayer) Hovaguimian Awarded the Homeland Medal

At the beginning of the year, Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan requested the Prime Minister to propose to the President the award of the Homeland Medal to Doctor Hakop (Hrayer) Hovaguimian for his exceptional services to the Republic of Armenia in the development of healthcare, the establishment of an innovative medical center for performing complex heart surgeries, training a large number of new specialists, saving numerous human lives, and his many years of selfless work.

Today, the veteran doctor was awarded the Homeland Medal by presidential decree. Minister Arsen Torosyan and the entire staff of the Ministry of Health express their gratitude to Doctor Hakop (Hrayer) Hovaguimian, congratulate him on receiving this high honor, and wish him good health. The ministry's statement also notes that he is the first doctor national hero.
