Today, several news websites shared a Facebook post featuring the photo of a romantic couple. Users were confused and thought their accounts had been hacked or that there was some other issue.

Media security expert Samvel Martirosyan addressed the circulation of the photo on his Facebook page, stating: “Many of you at this moment are seeing content from Facebook pages coming with this image. This is not from you, you have not been hacked, you are not infected, it’s not due to not wearing a mask, no need to disinfect. This is an internal issue with Facebook. It may be just a technical problem, for instance, a caching system failure. Or it could indeed be the work of hackers. But we have no role in this, we just need to sit and wait for what happens next.”
