Who Will Be the Heir to Azerbaijan's Deceased Major Thief's Criminal Empire
The deceased crime lord, 47-year-old Nadir Salifov, known as Guli, has had his criminal empire inherited by his younger brother, 44-year-old crime lord Namik Salifov (Namik Bakinski). This information was reported by «Новая газета».
Namik Salifov has already taken over his deceased brother's affairs, and market traders are now paying their respects to him. Namik was sentenced alongside Azerbaijan's Supreme Court in October 1996. Nadir received a 15-year sentence (which was later extended until 2021), while Namik was sentenced to 27 years in prison. However, for unknown reasons, both brothers were released early. Namik was released in April 2001, and he earned the title of 'criminal authority' in Istanbul in 2013. In the autumn of 2017, Nadir Salifov was released after 22 years of imprisonment. While still incarcerated, he had taken control of a large part of Russia's vegetable markets, becoming a dollar billionaire.
The first to pay their respects to Nadir Salifov were traders from the Sverdlovsk region. He later extended his control over markets in Siberia and southern Russia.
