Lydian Armenia Files Lawsuit Against MP Arman Babajanyan

Lydian Armenia announces that it has filed a lawsuit for defamation against Arman Babajanyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, due to statements made during an interview regarding Lydian's Amulsar project. Babajanyan referred to "...permissions acquired through corrupt and criminal means" and described the entire operation around Amulsar and Lydian as organized "...through a previous corrupt chain" and similar expressions.

In the company's statement, it is also mentioned: "In the company's assessment, the highlighted statements are defamatory, have no relation to reality, and aim to tarnish the business reputation of the company. We can essentially state that various circles representing political forces and several individuals during this time have resorted to this method of defamation to undermine Lydian Armenia's business reputation, spread misinformation about the Amulsar project among the public, create negative sentiments, or please certain groups for political dividends." These statements have not only remained unproven for more than two years but, in some cases, have already been classified by the court as defamation.

The fact of such irresponsible statements in the case of Arman Babajanyan is particularly concerning, as it is not about an activist or a protester, but rather a member of the National Assembly representing the legislative power of the Republic of Armenia and engaged in lawmaking activities.
