Hraparak: Hayk Marutyan and His Wife Hindered Viktor Mnatsakanyan's Appointment

In January, we reported that former Center community leader Viktor Mnatsakanyan was offered a position. The proposal was made by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, and it seemed that the appointment was just a matter of days, but it did not happen.

The position in question was that of the head of the State Committee for Urban Development, to succeed the detained Vahagn Vermishyan. Our sources within the ruling party informed that the appointment did not take place due to the efforts of Hayk Marutyan and his wife.

Knowing that Mnatsakanyan's order would be issued on Monday, the couple hosted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at their summer residence over the weekend and convinced him to cancel the decision. They argued that Mnatsakanyan had been removed from the position due to misappropriations, although in reality, he had resigned voluntarily.

By the way, if Marutyan is removed from his position, it will likely be due to uncovering corruption-related dealings within the city hall, of which Pashinyan was recently informed.
