New Decision by the Commissioner Regarding Rules and Restrictions during State of Emergency

A new decision by the Commissioner has been published regarding the rules and restrictions applied throughout Armenia due to the state of emergency. The following key changes have been implemented. This was announced by Commissioner Tigran Avinyan on his Facebook page.

The following have been reopened:

  • General education, starting on September 15
  • Higher education, where only first-year bachelor students will attend in person starting September 1, while the others will continue with a hybrid learning approach (remote theoretical and in-person practical classes).
  • Non-formal and continuous education in various directions.

At the same time, restrictions are still in place for extracurricular sports, arts, and cultural groups, which include:

  • Libraries
  • Museums
  • The cultural sector, including theatrical events and film screenings, which must be conducted exclusively in open-air spaces.

Rules have been established for:

  • Non-formal and continuous education sector
  • Libraries and museums
  • Theatrical, cinematic, and other cultural events
  • Airports and air passenger transport.

From now on, masks may not be worn by:

  • Television presenters, if they are alone in the studio during the broadcasts of television programs
  • Interpreters during television broadcasts.

Changes have also been made to the rules governing public catering, including:

  • The possibility of live music exclusively in open-air spaces has been permitted.
  • Seating at a single table is permitted for up to 8 people instead of the previous 5.
