Fire in Yeghvard Town
On August 17 at 21:31, the National Crisis Management Center received a report that the roof of one of the houses on Safaryan Street in Yeghvard was on fire. Two firefighting units from the Kotayk regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene.
It was found that the fire had originated in the roof of a storage facility adjacent to one of the houses. A fire complexity level 2 alert was declared, and additional firefighting units from the Kotayk regional rescue service and the Yerevan rescue service sent one unit each.
The fire was contained by 22:21 and extinguished by 23:37. The wooden structural elements of the storage roof belonging to Armen M. were burned over an area of approximately 80 square meters, along with about 100 square meters of facade planking, approximately 50 cardboard boxes, and 4 refrigerators. The spread of the fire to the house and the adjacent garage was prevented.
