Seasonal Flu and Acute Respiratory Viral Infection Vaccinations to Start in Moscow on September 1, Mayor Says
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that seasonal vaccinations against flu and acute respiratory viral infections will begin on September 1 in the capital, according to RIA Novosti.
“Last year we vaccinated about 7 million citizens of Moscow, an impressive number, which possibly helped us avoid a peak in disease outbreaks during the spring when the coronavirus was on the rise. This year, we must at least replicate the same volume of vaccinations and organize it earlier, as vaccines require time to take effect. Therefore, we will start on September 1 this year,” Sobyanin stated when responding to questions about the vaccination timeline for flu and acute respiratory viral infections.
The mayor also added that the coronavirus situation remains stable despite the active life in the capital.
