Putin Has Another Phone Conversation with Lukashenko
Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a phone conversation with Alexander Lukashenko. This was reported today, August 16, by TASS, citing the Kremlin press service.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the situation in Belarus following the elections, particularly the pressure being exerted on Belarus from abroad. Additionally, Putin reaffirmed Moscow's readiness to support Minsk in addressing its challenges.
It is noteworthy that on August 15, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that he had reached an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, under which Russia would provide comprehensive assistance to ensure Belarus's security upon the first request.
It should be recalled that since August 9, protests have erupted in Minsk following the results of the presidential elections, which have been accompanied by clashes with law enforcement officials.
