Lukashenko Reveals His Sole Objective
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has announced that his only objective is to maintain the independence of the state. His statements were disseminated by the BelTA agency.
“At this moment, I have no other goals besides preserving the independence and stability of the state,” Lukashenko stated during a meeting at the Ministry of Defense's Strategic Management Center.
Earlier, Lukashenko stated that he had reached an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, wherein Russia would provide comprehensive assistance to ensure Belarus's security upon the first request.
It is important to note that since August 9, protests have erupted in Minsk following the presidential election results, which have been accompanied by clashes with law enforcement.
