OMON Officers Take Control of Minsk Television Center
In Minsk, OMON has taken heightened control over the building of the Belarusian television and radio company, where today the head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament, Natalya Kochanova, and the press secretary of the President of the country, Natalya Eismont, arrived with staff.
According to TASS, OMON officers wearing helmets and carrying metal shields have been spotted on the first floor of the building, but their exact number has not been determined.
It is noted that the "Belarusian Television and Radio Company" operates around the clock, and employees and technical staff are present inside the building. Today, a meeting between Eismont and Kochanova took place, during which the prevailing situation in the country was discussed.
There are opinions that they have convinced the state television company's employees not to go on strike, which they had previously indicated was a possibility.
