Eight Football Players and Three Coaches from 'Ararat' Infected with Coronavirus
The 'Ararat' football club announces: Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has also affected the 'Ararat' football club. On August 14, the staff of 'Ararat' and the players of the main team underwent coronavirus testing, resulting in positive tests for eight players and three coaches.
Of the infected players, two are registered with 'Ararat', while six are part of 'Ararat-2'. Consequently, the match originally scheduled for August 15 between 'Ararat-2' and 'Alashkert-2' has been postponed.
However, the match in the first round of the Vbet Armenian Premier League between 'Ararat' and 'Pyunik' will proceed as planned on August 16 at 19:30. Regarding this match, 'Ararat' football club has contacted the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA), which has informed us that according to the guidelines for preventing coronavirus in the professional football competitions of the 2020/21 season, a match can only be postponed if more than three players are infected. Therefore, the 'Ararat'-'Pyunik' match cannot be postponed.
The coaching staff and the majority of players from 'Ararat-2' underwent coronavirus RNA tests today, August 15, and we will receive results tomorrow.
