VIDEO: Central Police Department Detectives Uncover Robbery Cases
On August 5, the Central Police Department received a call from the operational management center regarding the theft of a woman’s necklace moments earlier on Mashtots Avenue.
Measures were taken to identify the person responsible for the robbery and to recover the stolen property. Officers from the Yerevan City Police Department joined the investigation efforts. As a result of their joint work, the crime was solved a day after the report was made.
Information was received suggesting that a 28-year-old resident of Davitashen might be responsible for the robbery. On August 6, he was apprehended from Republic Square and brought to the Central Police Department.
Further measures revealed that he had committed additional crimes, specifically stealing a woman’s chain on August 5 on Artsakh Street, and prior to that, on July 31, robbing another woman on Mashtots Avenue, taking her gold chain.
The suspect has provided a confession. Reports have been accepted from the victims. The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
