US Reports Iranian Forces Detain Ship Named Wila in International Waters
The Central Command of the US Armed Forces has reported that Iranian military units have detained a ship named Wila in international waters, according to TASS.
Sailing under the Libyan flag, the Wila was en route from the Al-Hamriya port in the United Arab Emirates to the port of Hor-Fakkan located in the Gulf of Oman, which is also in the UAE.
As per the data released by the monitoring service Marine Traffic, the Wila was traveling from the Al-Hamriya port in the UAE to the Hor-Fakkan port on the coast of the Gulf of Oman, also belonging to the UAE.

On July 19, 2019, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps detained the Stena Impero, a British-flagged ship, in the Strait of Hormuz on the grounds of violating international law. This incident escalated tensions between the US and Iran.
On September 16 of the same year, Iranian border guards detained a ship carrying 250 liters of smuggled diesel fuel heading towards the UAE, followed by another similar ship the next day in the Persian Gulf.
