Police Officer Involved in Pedestrian Accident in Stepavan
Yesterday, on August 12, a pedestrian accident occurred in the Lori region. Around 11:00 PM, 22-year-old Arthur Vahradyan, a resident of Stepavan, struck 21-year-old Sergei Nerkaryan, also a resident of Stepavan, with his Opel Astra in front of building 12 in the Ashotaberd neighborhood.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the injured individual was taken to the 'Stepavan' Medical Center. Officers from the 1st platoon of the 5th company of the Road Police's 2nd service promptly arrived at the scene, along with an operational group from the Stepavan Police Department.
As reported by G. Shamshyan, driver A. Vahradyan works in the Patrol Police division of the Stepavan Police Department, which is why a group from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Lori regional division arrived at the scene following a directive from the prosecutor's office. Upon the investigator's directive, the driver underwent a sobriety test, which revealed he was not sober but within permissible limits. The vehicle was then moved to the secured area of the Stepavan Police Department based on the investigator's instructions.
