On August 9, a major traffic accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 20:40, a collision took place on the bridge of the Abovyan-Nor Hachn highway involving a Skoda vehicle driven by 29-year-old Gevorg D. from Nor Hachn and a Ford vehicle driven by 32-year-old Meroujan Y. from Arzni village.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the crash, Gevorg D., the driver of the Skoda, his passenger, 27-year-old Karen D. from Nor Hachn, and the driver of the Ford, Meroujan Y., along with his passengers—34-year-old Andranik M. from Nor Artamet village and 37-year-old Mher Y. from Abovyan—sustained various bodily injuries and were transported to the Abovyan Medical Center.
