Fatal Car Accident Claims the Lives of Armen Maroutyan's Daughter, Her Husband, and Their Children
The Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported yesterday that a tragic car accident occurred in the Syunik region on August 9. Around 16:00, a collision took place on the 182nd kilometer of the Yerevan-Yeraskh-Meghri highway between a Toyota and a Mercedes truck, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the Toyota was driven by 49-year-old Mihiran Gyulzadyan from Yerevan, while the Mercedes was driven by 61-year-old Ashot Gevorgyan from Noramarg village in the Ararat region.
At the scene, the driver of the Toyota, M. Gyulzadyan, and his passengers, including his wife, 37-year-old Tamara Maroutyan—daughter of the renowned Armenian artists Armen Maroutyan and Alla Vardanyan—and their two children, 15-year-old Narek and 9-year-old Armen Gyulzadyan, lost their lives.
