Body Retrieved from Water in 3 Minutes: New Details
Yesterday, a 30-year-old man drowned at the Yeghegnut beach along the Tsovagyugh-Shorja highway. The deputy commander of the Special Water Rescue Unit of the Gegharkunik Regional Emergency Department, Lieutenant Colonel Navasardyan, stated in an interview with ArmDaily.am that the location where the citizen drowned was quite challenging to locate.
"The incident occurred at Yeghegnut beach in the Chambarak region. We conducted our diving operations, and retrieving the body from the water took 3 minutes; the citizen had already been submerged for quite some time. He had submerged at a depth of about 2.5 to 3 meters, approximately 15-20 meters from the shore," Navasardyan noted.
Navasardyan mentioned that the drowning victim was originally from Jermuk but lived in Charentsavan. "There were several people—4 or 5—who came to relax; I do not know if the individuals with him were relatives or friends," he added.
