49-Year-Old Resident of Ejmiadzin Causes Significant Damage to Fellow Citizen by Assisting in Self-Justice
The investigation into the criminal case initiated in the Armavir regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee regarding the assistance provided by a 49-year-old resident of Ejmiadzin in committing self-justice has been completed. This was reported by the information and public relations department of the RA Investigative Committee.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, the 49-year-old resident of Ejmiadzin learned from a relative living in Russia that, based on a verbal agreement, she sold a plot of land belonging to her family in the area known as "Matur" in Ejmiadzin to a 38-year-old fellow citizen for 3,500 USD. However, the latter did not fully pay the amount due for the plot of land and, as a debt, was obligated to pay 773,000 AMD to the woman.
Subsequently, the 49-year-old man provided voluntary physical assistance in the conditions of the fellow citizen's failure to fulfill his obligations within the specified timeframe. Specifically, on October 17, 2018, at around 1:30 PM, he rented equipment and instructed the driver of that equipment to demolish the semi-finished structure that the 38-year-old fellow citizen had constructed on the aforementioned plot of land, which consequently caused significant damage to his legal interests.
Based on the combination of sufficient evidence, the resident of Ejmiadzin has been charged under the first part of Article 38-322 of the RA Criminal Code (assisting in self-justice). A preventive measure has been taken against him in the form of a signature not to leave. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
Notice: The person suspected or accused of the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, with a legally binding judgment of the court.
